For more than fifteen years, I have worked on values-aligned projects related to history, culture, and expanding access to educational opportunities. This has included work in public history (particularly related to Latin American and Caribbean history, genealogy, and methods training), the non-profit sphere (strategic planning, program design and implementation, and grant writing), admissions advising and application support for undergraduate and graduate programs, and more.

Some highlights include launching a grant-funded Afro-Latin American history study abroad program, leading a strategic planning that revamped a college prep program from which I graduated (doubling the students served annually and leading to 100% enrollment in selective undergraduate programs), and consulting for the PBS show Finding Your Roots (S12, E3; about slavery and genealogy for Liza Colón-Zayas). Since 2011, I have successfully secured nearly $1.1 million in competitive grants for my research, educational programs, and public history projects.
